Zebra Fruit Wavepack<\/em>, 2012<\/p>\n "Zebra Fruit Wavepack<\/em> is a sculptural painting based on my longstanding interests in synthesized wave formations and color theory. I laboriously constructed the painting by hand using painted slats of laser-cut wood.<\/p>\n I determine the sequence of color combinations to develop a sense of optical vibration, with the desire to create an animated visual experience that impacts both the viewer's body and mind.<\/p>\n In this work, I organized 12 colors in various combinations to achieve an optical experience that changes based on the viewing distance from the painting. For example, what may appear to be a field of bright orange color from afar is revealed as two alternating complimentary colors upon close inspection."
