How long have you lived at CityWay? What floor plan did you choose and why?
We moved to CityWay August 1, 2017. We chose the Vermillion floor plan because of the great space and flexibility it provides. Julie's office and our master bedroom are on the bottom level. This means she has lots of quiet and privacy for work, and I have a full run of the middle level to do absolutely nothing! We hardly ever go to the top level, but it has been a great space for guests and our daughter, who is home from IU for the summer.
What is your favorite thing about the city of Indianapolis?
It's hard to choose one favorite thing because we love CityWay and the city of Indianapolis very much. If we narrowed to a top two, I would say we love the amazing variety of great restaurants and the terrific running and biking trails in and around the city.
What do you like to do for fun?
For fun we love going to events. This was one of the main reasons we wanted to live in the heart of the city. When we first moved here, we began keeping a list of games, concerts and other events we've attended just to have a fun record of the things we've done. So far this first year, we have been to 74 events, including more than 50 games, 9 concerts and a variety of other activities like the Indiana State Fair and the filming of American Ninja Warrior.
We've already signed our lease for another year here at CityWay. It's really hard to beat this wonderful community and the incredible downtown area!

She was a good girl and shared some fun facts about herself.
What are your 3 favorite things to do?
I like chasing squirrels, taking long walks on the Cultural Trail and Canal, and I love begging for treats (especially from my friends at the CityWay leasing office).
What is something no one knows about you?
I'm a huge James Bond fan, and will bark at the villains when they come on the screen.
What is your favorite toy, and why?
I love Anything with a squeaker, since I take great pride in ripping them apart and removing the squeaker within a matter of minutes!

]]>When it comes to searching for a place to live, it helps to remember that you're not just searching for a home or apartment, but you're also becoming part of a neighborhood. If you're thinking about moving to Indianapolis, you are definitely looking for a neighborhood that best fits your lifestyle within an urban setting.
According to Budget Dumpster, Indianapolis is fast becoming a hub for business and innovation. As a thriving metropolitan city for work, play and education, the city has a number of attractive neighborhoods that anyone would love to live in. Here are some of the top neighborhoods in Indianapolis and a few reasons why more people are moving and living in the Indianapolis area.
CityWay
CityWay is an all-inclusive, charming neighborhood, offering a new vibe to downtown Indianapolis living. Located at the doorstep of the city’s top entertainment spots and professional sports venues, CityWay inspires a new kind of lifestyle. Designed as a neighborhood to connect downtown Indy to Lilly’s campus, CityWay offers a medium to downtown living with a suburban feel by including what people need and want in a living situation.
With modern apartments, a world-class business hotel: The Alexander, posh restaurants, modern office space, retail shops, vibrant nightlife and conference and event space, CityWay is a one of a kind neighborhood that’s located in the heart of a bustling city. The location is convenient being within an active community, by having the Irsay Family YMCA at CityWay adjacent to the complex, and living in the heart of the city’s nightlife, including Plat99 and Cerulean within the CityWay community. CityWay simply offers an entirely new lifestyle experience in Indianapolis.
What Makes a Neighborhood Great?
There are components and features common to all great neighborhoods. As you compare different neighborhoods, you’ll want to match them to your specific needs.
- Lifestyle Match – According to an online article on choosing the right neighborhood, you should consider your current lifestyle and needs when choosing a neighborhood to live in. Does it match your daily lifestyle? You might love a home you just viewed, but if the neighborhood doesn't match your lifestyle, you’ll not be happy or fully comfortable with living there. For example, you don’t go to the grocery once week, but rather stop by the store every night on your way home to gather items for dinner that night. If your new home isn’t conveniently accessible to a grocery store, you won’t be happy there because it would affect your daily lifestyle.
- Outdoor Activities – Having access to the outdoor activities you love can make a neighborhood even more attractive to live in. The Indianapolis Cultural Trail provides access across downtown for jogging, running, cycling, or taking your dog out for a stroll. The numerous green spaces and parks located throughout the city also allow you to enjoy the great outdoors. Easy access and proximity to swimming pools and clubs, tennis courts, basketball courts and golf courses also make a neighborhood great.
- Close-Knit Community – Everyone wants to live in a friendly neighborhood. Neighborhoods like CityWay and Library Square, where you can live, work and play within a close-knit community are a great attraction for anyone looking for locations that offer more than just a great place to live. Close-knit communities offer opportunities to network, make new friends and socialize.
Other components that make a neighborhood great include access to quality medical care, low crime rate, proximity to public transport, access to shopping centers, walkability, active nightlife and entertainment and much more.
The Bottom Line
According to Sublet Alert, a company that offers sublet monitoring services for Airbnb properties, choosing the right neighborhood is not only good for you, but it’s also important for your property. Indianapolis is the ultimate go-to destination for young buyers or renters who are looking for a combination of great living, employment opportunities and arts & entertainment.

Catherine and Andrew joined us for a little Q&A with their adorable kitty, Louie.
How long have you lived at CityWay? What floor plan did you choose? Why?
We have lived at CityWay for about six months. We chose the Crimson floor plan because we love having the second bedroom for family and friends to use when they visit us!
What do you love most about CityWay?
Our favorite part is the location! We love how close we are to downtown and all the fun events at Bankers Life and Lucas Oil. On nice days, we love walking to Mass Ave. for dinner. Finally, we love exploring The Alexander for a drink or going to Yolk for brunch!
What is one think that no one knows about you?
One thing people don't know is that our cat, Louie, is named after our hometown of St. Louis, Missouri!

We sat down with Lillia to ask her a few questions about CityWay and living in downtown Indy:
What made you choose CityWay as your home?
I chose CityWay, after exploring many other apartment communities, because the staff at CityWay was so welcoming and inviting. Also, the amenities and apartment floor plan were perfect for my needs. And you can't beat the wonderful location!
What do you do for fun?
Aside from attending CityWay resident events, I love exploring the city and participating in the various activities that are always going on. The restaurants and bars offer something for everyone. The YMCA is close and makes it easy to take classes and make new friends.
What is your favorite thing about the city of Indianapolis?
One of my favorite things about downtown Indy is how walkable/bikeable it is, plus the diversity of activities and cultural events.
Thanks, Lillia, for taking the time to answer some of our questions! If you'd like to be a resident of the month for CityWay, contact the leasing team to learn more!

How long have you lived at CityWay? What floor plan did you choose and why?
We've lived at CityWay for about a year. We live in the Vermillion floor plan. We like having a lot of room, but the outdoor living space really made our decision. It was perfect for watching the 4th of July fireworks!
What is your favorite bar or restaurant within walking distance of CityWay?
We like Bakersfield on Mass Ave. Also, Yolk is a great place for brunch.
What is your favorite thing about the city of Indianapolis?
We really like how easy it is to walk or ride bikes around town. The Cultural Trail is awesome. We love watching the Pacers and Fever at Banker's Life and catching the Indians at Victory Field. There are always events and festivals happening downtown, and it's fun to check them out. White River Park is an excellent concert venue – super convenient!
We love our residents and how much they enjoy living at CityWay! Interested in living in the most premier location in downtown Indy? Contact our leasing team today to tour our available units, and learn more about what's to come for CityWay.
