This cutie recently joined our community and we have been swooning over him ever since! Read more about him below!
Favorite place to explore in CityWay?
He really loves seeing the art on the walls, and we really love to take cute pictures of him with it. Another place he really likes is the outdoor barbecue area. We brought him there last weekend, and he loves seeing the neighbors and the other dogs. Since he doesn't have all his shots yet, he doesn't go to the pet areas. However, I'm pretty sure he is super excited to go there because he keeps admiring it from the window.
How long have you lived here, in what floor plan and favorite place to chill in the house?
We have been living here for only 3 months, but we are enjoying it very much. We are in a Saffron Townhome. His favorite place to chill is the living room, we did a little area for him over there with a bed, a lot of toys, etc. He loves it!
Favorite activity?
He loves to run around. When we let him out of his crate he starts running though our living room. It's the cutest thing ever!!!
Thank you for sharing! Slinky sure is cute and we can't wait until he is old enough to try out our two new dog parks!! Interested in featuring your pet? Email [email protected]!

We chose the Crimson! We loved the location of the apartment and the floor plan fit exactly what we were looking for!
What is one thing no one knows about you?
Rachael has a twin brother and Lauren played golf in high school.
What is your favorite thing about the city of Indianapolis?
We love the restaurants and the ability to walk to almost all of them!

]]>This is a new initiative for CityWay in partnership with IndyHub called Core Connections. As a new young professional resident at CityWay, and new to downtown Indy, residents are sent a test from IndyHub to learn how to get more involved with the city, specifically clubs and nonprofits. Our resident was featured first!
"Indianapolis is filled with great places to live, and with the significant development and growth in the past decade, we’ve seen many apartment complexes and buildings pop up for downtown dwellers. IndyHub is proud to have CityWay as a partner of our work, and now that our office is located just around the corner from the CityWay campus, we’ve certainly enjoyed the amenities they provide to visitors and residents alike, specifically Plat 99: Coffee + Cocktails!
I met up with one of CityWay’s residents, Tynia Murphy, to learn more about her journey to Indy and why she chose CityWay. Aside from the resident amenities, Tynia loves how CityWay is a quiet space in the city and often enjoys the many restaurants and hanging out with her neighbors by the pool or common spaces. Read more to learn about Tynia and a snapshot of what life is like at CityWay!
When did you move to Indianapolis and what drew you to choose CityWay?
I moved to Indianapolis the summer of 2017. I decided to come out for a two-month vacation with my friend Andy who already lived in Indy at CityWay. During the first month I spent in Indianapolis we both decided that I should stay, and we should live together and start a new relationship. We’ve been dating ever since!
Are you from Indianapolis or somewhere else?
I am from Las Vegas, Nevada.
Where do you work?
During the summer, I work across the street at the Irsay Family YMCA at CityWay, part time. During the school year, I work a Before-and-After School program for the YMCA, working with IPS. I engage with children in fun creative and physical activities. Soon I will be transferring to IUPUI for my bachelor’s degree in elementary education in 2020.
When not at work, what are some things you enjoy doing in Indy?
In the summer, we love to ride our bikes downtown or up to Broad Ripple. We enjoy eating at restaurants on Mass Ave., going to the symphony for concerts, seeing movies playing at The IMAX movie theater, going to Circle Centre Mall, and more! Lately, we’ve been renting kayaks on The Canal on sunny days, and we also love to swim using the pool and hot tub during the fall and winter at The Irsay Family YMCA at CityWay.
We also enjoy hosting Bachelor parties for the T.V. show mostly every Monday at our apartment. Fountain Square is a neat place to be, and not too far from home when I’m craving my favorite Thai restaurant in Indianapolis.
What is your absolute favorite part about living at CityWay?
The pool and grill area is my favorite spot. I love to study by the pool, relax and cook on the grill.
What types of amenities does CityWay offer that sealed your decision to move in?
When we decided we wanted to move into a larger one bedroom apartment, I wanted to look for a place that had similar amenities as CityWay. I searched everywhere downtown and eventually decided that I love our place because nowhere else provided an outdoor pool, T.V. room, lounge, a gym, and a quiet place that’s in the downtown area that’s close to our work.
Have you interacted with many of your neighbors or participated in complex mixers/events?
We have made a few good friends here at CityWay. One of our friends is our ‘cool neighbor’ that is a news anchor on ABC, which is exciting to tell people. And an awesome couple that recently got engaged, congrats to them. Sometimes, we meet people that are interns for Lilly where Andy works, and we make new friends easily when we see them enjoying the same amenities as we do.
There's tons of art featured in and around the CityWay property- which piece is your favorite and why?
There are really neat spray painting art on the property, but my all-time favorite is the guy in a black striped suit looking sneaky and spray painting on the wall. I love it because it’s funny to see a joke when I look out the window, I see it all the time and chuckle.
How does living at CityWay compare to other places you have lived in the past?
I have never lived in a place as beautiful as CityWay. The community here is a great place to surround yourself with great energy. None of my homes in the past have measured up to CityWay.
What is the social atmosphere like at CityWay?
This is a busy area because we have Bankers Life Arena and Lucas Oil Stadium basically across the street. So, we do enjoy a fun tailgating party here and there. Although the traffic of people comes and goes it is a positive feel with the people around CityWay, the residents and staff that live and work here on the property are kind people.
What is your go-to local food spot at CityWay?
We love happy hours with co-workers and friends at the Alexander Hotel, in their coffee shop and bar called Plat 99: Coffee & Cocktails. There is also an Italian restaurant called Nesso, a breakfast place called Yolk, and a Qdoba. I know there is more to come in the future to explore and experience at CityWay with the new expansion. We are very excited to see what else is coming!
We've talked a lot about living at City Way– but how can anyone in Indy enjoy the property?
There are many ways to enjoy the property, including some of the restaurants I mentioned before. I get my hair done downstairs at Salon Lofts. I have an amazing friend/hairdresser that does my hair and teaches yoga at CityWay so that’s extremely fun to interact with others doing yoga."

She's the new pup on the block and loves saying hi! Read more about her below.
1. How long have you lived here, in what floor plan and what's your favorite place to chill in the house?
I have lived here for 1 month and love it! My dad tells me we live in the Onyx floorplan. I’m not sure why it’s called that, but it has a bunch of space for me to run! My favorite place to chill out is my puppy bed with my toys.
2. Favorite place to explore in CityWay?
I love walking around the neighborhood and meeting all the friendly people and dogs. I really like checking out the flowerbeds near the busy pool! I think my dad needs to get me one of those!
3. Favorite toy and why?
My favorite toy is my white dinosaur Nylabone because it never breaks no matter how much I chew on it!
Thanks Zoe for stopping by to share with us. We promise to share our pool with you at our end-of-season event!

Molly (right) stopped by to answer a few questions. Check them out below!
1. How long have you lived at CityWay, what floorplan did you choose and why?
I have been part of the CityWay community for over 3 years with Salon Lofts, but moved into the apartments a little over a year ago. I have really loved being part of the progress and seeing the expansions happening around the campus. I chose the one bedroom with a balcony, The Azure!! I HAVE to have space to sit outside and read and of course my mini plant jungle out there brings me joy!
2. What do you love most about the CityWay community?
I love the people! I couldn't ask for a better group of people to share this space with. My business partner Allison Rutledge is basically my sister, the staff at CityWay has become part of my everyday existence. Doug and Jason are my dudes and make sure the place is always beautiful and clean. Ash/Danielle/Justeen, all the ladies – have been so helpful and really care for the residents and campus with great passion. I have really enjoyed teaching yoga on Sundays and getting to know even more of my neighbors, as well as being able to have them, not only as neighbors, but clients and friends.
3. What is/are your favorite Indianapolis event(s)?
Honestly, there is so much to do this is hard… highlights this year: Zoobilation, Summer Nights at Newfields, I love the Dugout in Fountain Square, the Farmers Market every Wednesday. Nesso!!! (the resident events are so fun). Wreath making with Urban Contessa, and Miracle on South was a really cool experience. I look forward to doing more and meeting more people. Big thanks to the team of people that make this community a home!
Thank you, Molly, for all of your kind words! We are very thankful to have you as a resident and a business partner!

This fun-loving couple sat down with us to share a little bit about them!
How long have you lived at CItyWay? What floor plan did you choose and why?
We've been happily living at CityWay for 3.5 years. We initially chose the Onyx floor plan because of its large open living space and all of the natural light that the corner unit provides. We recently moved to an Olivine floor plan to take advantage of the extra space and its huge rooftop patio with a city view!
What is your favorite thing about the city of Indianapolis?
We love all of the great restaurants, bars, breweries and sporting events that are all within walking distance. Our favorite thing to do is attend Pacers games and we really enjoy having Bankers Life Fieldhouse just steps away from our home at CityWay.
What is one thing no one knows about you?
While we went to the same college at the same time (and had the same major), we actually never met until a few years after we graduated!
Thanks for sharing and thank you for bringing your adorable pup, Lilly!

This spunky young fellow stopped by the office to answer a few questions.
1. How long have you lived at CItyWay and what floor plan did you choose? Where is Dash's favorite spot at home?
We have lived at CityWay for a little over a year and live in the Blush floor plan. It is a 2 bedroom, 2 story layout. Dash's favorite spots are on the couch where he can look out the window or out on the balcony.
2. What is his favorite toy and why?
His favorite toy is either a ball or a bone. The ball is for whenever he wants to play (which is all the time) and the bone is for a rare occasion when he is tired but still wants something to do.
3. What is his favorite CityWay activity?
His favorite activity to do is go to the dog area when it is warm enough (for me), chase bunnies when we go out for morning or evening walks, be pet by people at CityWay and "talk" to other dogs.
Thank you, Dash and owner Neil, for sharing with us! If you are interested in having your furry friend being our next Pet of the Month, contact Danielle today!

Jared sat down with us to share about his CItyWay experience and about him!
How long have you lived at CityWay, what floorplan did you choose and why?
I have lived at CityWay for two and a half years now. I lived in a Cadmium for a couple of years with a college buddy of mine. That layout worked great for us. I travel a lot for work so he had the place to himself for 10 nights a month, usually. His work took him out of Indy recently, so now I am in the Azure. It's a great space for one person.
What are your three favorite things about CityWay?
The proximity to the YMCA. I can't imagine driving to the gym anymore. The pool. The central location to Georgia St., Mass Ave. and Fountain Square. You can't beat it. When I first moved here, my friends and I definitely spent more time on Georgia Street, but these days I like to check out Mass Ave. and Fountain Square.
Tell us a fun fact about you?
When I used to be a flight instructor at Purdue, I was involved with an organization called Able Flight. Through that program I had a student pilot that was paralyzed from the waist down. With a special airplane that used hand controls, he was able to get his pilots license! This is obviously a way more impressive fact for him than it is me, but it is something I will never forget and am incredibly grateful to have been part of.
Thank you, Jared, for sharing these fantastic stories! If you are interested in being our next Resident of the Month contact Danielle.

]]>The post Our Moving Tips appeared first on The Residences at CityWay Blog.
]]>We understand moving is stressful no matter how much you prepare. Whether you’re moving across the hall or across the country, there are many steps you should take before packing all your valuables in boxes. As experts in the art of a smooth move, read on for our top tips when it comes to moving.
First, there are many factors to consider when moving. Do you need a moving truck? Are you moving into a smaller space? A bigger space? How far are you moving? These are just a few of the factors to consider when making arrangements. Depending on your situation, you’ll need to adjust your game plan.
Before you move, purge anything you haven’t used within the past year. Moving truck space is valuable because it’s finite. If you can’t fit something, you either need a bigger truck or it’s not worth bringing. Plan to donate or trash several items in the weeks before your move. Getting rid of a few items is a win-win situation: the more you decide you don’t need, the less you have to move.
Once you have consolidated your belongings down to the essentials, you can begin packing. Our tip: pack room-by-room. For example, if you pack your dining room materials together, you’re more likely to have a smooth transition and not misplace items along the way. When you get to your new space, you’ll know everything “dining” is together. This way, if you don’t have time to unpack everything immediately, you can easily prioritize what to unpack first.
For belongings that can fit in a box, we suggest purchasing cardboard moving boxes. Using boxes you already own can be tempting, but often aren’t as sturdy and are difficult to carry. Moving boxes are great for stacking and can uniformly fit in a moving truck or car. Be sure to label every box on the top and at least one side so you can easily spot your organized boxes every time. Also, use smaller boxes for heavier items. When you put heavy items in large boxes, it can be tempting to fill the box to the point where it becomes too heavy to carry.
Aside from packing, there are a few steps you will need to take to make sure your bills and other utilities are covered during the move. Try scheduling your disconnect times so you are strategically covered in both homes with as little overlap as possible. Sometimes your apartment home management will take care of this for you, but you should always double check. You should also change your permanent address before you move so you continue to get any outstanding bills at the correct location.
Want a pain-free moving experience? Try using a professional moving company! If you’re looking for suggestions, contact our leasing center and we can provide assistance. We hope this has been a helpful guide and we wish all our residents (past, present and future) a successful move!
